Adult stem cells are capable of dividing into many different cell types. With this capability, we can use them as a treatment for joint injuries, ligament and tendon damage, and fractured bones.

Stem Cell treatment is now available at our clinic. Please make an appointment to discuss treatment options with Dr. Peter Bond.

Stem Cell treatment is completed in a day and does not use controversial embryonic stem cells. The day of the procedure, the veterinarian may need to sedate your pet and the stem cells will be administered into the affected joint and/or into the bloodstream.

Grass Seeds

As the weather has warmed up we have seen an increase in grass seed related problems. Despite the size of a grass seed, it can cause severe problems.

Some of the common places we find seeds are stuck between a pet's toes, in their ears, nostrils and even in their eyes.

When grass seeds are left untreated they can lead to severe problems including the loss of an eye; ear infections, ruptured ear drums and abscess formation.

Treatment can be extremely tricky at times often requiring an anaesthetic to explore an abscess and attempt to locate the seed by tracing its course under the skin.

There is no simple protection against grass seeds apart from prevention. Groom long haired pets regularly. Look carefully around the head and in the eyes and ears, as well as between the toes.  Avoid walks in long dry grassy areas.
